HELLO 2016

2015 was a crazy year, to the say the least. I went through so many changes, life transitions, and ~dramz~, but I'm very thankful for all of it, the good and the bad. I learned so much about myself through all the uncertainty and doubt, and I realized I needed to do what was best for me, in every aspect of my life. I knew I had to trust in God's plan for me and have faith that things would work out for the best, even when it seemed like everything was not going my way. I can honestly say that unexpectedly, things worked out even better than I thought they would and I can't help but think everything that's happened (the good, the bad, the wonderful, the ugly) this past year was all meant to be so I could get to this point in my life.

Hey guys! I just wanted to put together a quick little gift guide (under $50!) for that special gal (or for yourself because TREAT YOSELF). This is honestly more like a gift guide for me aka Christmas wishlist, but I hope you get some ideas of some great things to get for those ladies in your life :)

Thanks to Blogger Babes, the two of us were fortunate enough to attend the 2nd annual Women’s Entrepreneurship Day at the United Nations on November 19th. This day was created as a movement to empower, support, and commemorate women entrepreneurs all around the world. The guest speakers included extremely influential people. From Adena Friedman (President of NASDAQ), to Leslie Blodgett (Creator of bareMinerals), to Leona Lewis (Grammy nominated singer/songwriter), the list goes on and on. We took in the words of these women like a sponge and were in awe of all the hard work they’ve done to get to the positions they’re in today. Saying we left the event inspired would be an understatement.

Crisp air, seasonal drinks, autumn foliage, flannels, beanies, and using oversized blazers as makeshift coats, these are just few of many reasons as to why fall is the best time of the year. While every season has its perks, during the fall you get to sport your favorite hoodies, bomber jackets, and cashmere sweaters in the comfortable chill. And while the drop in temperature can have some of us feeling under the weather, it's the little things like getting comfy under cozy knit layers or dressing up a little by throwing on a tailored blazer that can heighten our moods.

As I mentioned in my last post, I pretty much live in heeled booties and my usual '9 to 5' wear. I'm a creature of habit, so my outfits this season tend to include the same pieces: black skirt, black boots, minimalistic accessories, and this bag, of late.

It's easy to gravitate toward the same or similar pieces in my closet, and even more so when I'm shopping, since I'm always on the go and in a rush these days (even if I attempt to let myself have two hours to get ready each day). My wardrobe essentials now consist mostly of blacks, grays, and whites. It's rare for me to actually go for something outside this wide color range, but I figured a pop of red (aka my power color) would be a nice change of pace.
